The 2012 April Fools "Hack" was an unofficial event that took place in April 1st, 2012, hence the name, that involved the compromising of the entire Roblox site which enabled attackers to recklessly experiment with and abuse the site's features. The site later had to go offline in order to patch the vulnerability. Although it is not an actual hack of a site (known as cybercrime), the event was widely referred to as such during and after it took place.

On April 1st, 2012, an unknown user (although many people claim it to be 'DracoSwordMaster) caused what would become Roblox's most notable "hacking." It involved the currency system and item catalog, the use of the warning banner, and unauthorized user promotions. It is currently unknown how DracoSwordMaster was able to access the Roblox administrative system.

However, it is said that a forum discussion between Minish and Merely was the suspected cause of this event. It was an argument involving money and Roblox's economy. It is alleged that Minish's account was hacked by DracoSwordMaster. "She" bought Merely's famous Dominus Crown, which was his personal favorite catalog item. The forums were soon filled with threads discussing the events. As a result, both Minish and Merely were banned. This lead to Merely temporarily quitting Roblox.

DracoSwordMaster released new assets during the time of the "hacking." He released a face called "C:" on the official Roblox account for 100 robux. The only user who purchased it was Stickmasterluke, who was hacked at the time. Another face called "hai guize derp" was also made, but unlike "C:" it was never put in the catalog.

The warning banners frequently changed colors and displayed strange content. Examples are "thank you minish for messing up the economy. nub.", "always share your passwords with strangers, kids!", "Yo gonna give a shout out to the homies in dah hood", "Do A Barrel roll", and "I'm the annoying orange banner. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH".

Off-Topic but okay.
