Example 1: Nothing can be too realistic, it just matters on modeling and texturing, and the amount of effort put into it. I believe anything can be used great on the Store, nothing can be too realistic! :D

Example 2: If you wish to keep the simplistic style, no. The simplistic style of ReeliChat is what I like most, just my opinion. Textures would make this seem less simplistic but more "trying to be realistic"-y. It's really your choice.
